Coffee Shops in Iligan City for Work, Dates & Solo Time
A Millennial Tita’s Nostalgic Picks
There’s something about coffee shops that quietly hold pieces of our lives. In a city like Iligan—growing, evolving, getting busier by the day—it’s comforting to know that some places remain exactly how we remember them. Familiar. Steady. Almost like they’ve been waiting for us to come back.
As a proud millennial tita (who now chooses slow mornings over late nights), I find myself gravitating toward cafés that feel less like trends and more like home. The kind you don’t just visit—you return to.
Here are my top three forever favorites in Iligan City—the ones that have stood the test of time and still hit the same way.
1️⃣ ARUMA Coffee Lounge
Feels like home.
This place? Pure comfort.
Back in the day, this was where the Iligan Bloggers Society would gather—long conversations, laughter, and way too many cups of coffee. And somehow, even now, it still carries that same warmth. You walk in and it’s like nothing’s changed… in the best way.
My forever favorites:
Aruma Pasta 🍝
Coffee Jelly ☕
White Mocha 🤍
Banoffee Pie 🍌
It’s the kind of spot you choose when you want to feel grounded—whether you’re working on your laptop or catching up with old friends.
2️⃣ Dark Roast Coffee Shop
The smell of nostalgia.
If memories had a scent, this place would be it.
I still remember sitting here around 2012, waiting with my dad, quietly sipping coffee. No rush, no distractions—just time passing slowly. And honestly, that’s what keeps me coming back.
It hasn’t tried too hard to reinvent itself—and I love that about it.
My go-to picks:
Coffee Mocha (Hot) ☕
Cassava Cake 🍰
Chicken Alfredo 🍗
Perfect for solo afternoons when you just want to sit, think, and maybe romanticize your life a little.
3️⃣ Arabigo Coffee Roastery
A secret escape from the city.
This one feels like a hidden gem you almost want to gatekeep—but of course, we don’t do that here.
Introduced to me by my siblings, Arabigo has this calm, tucked-away vibe that instantly slows you down. It’s where you go when you want a soft reset—no noise, no pressure.
My staples:
Spanish Latte (Cold) 🧊
Any breakfast meal 🍳
Honestly, their all-day breakfast alone is reason enough to visit. It’s giving “slow morning, no agenda” energy. I don't really have a photo for this so im grabbing some from their page :)
My Personal Extra Picks (Because 3 Is Never Enough)
Okay, tita confession: I always have a few more favorites depending on my mood.
Gnar. CO - quirky, artsy, and great for creative days. I love how creative they are with their food choices, the place is quiet small and it gets crowded easily but I guess thats the beauty or character that they pull off.
Gillermo's Coffee – underrated cozy spot for quiet work sessions. I do order via delivery apps, not really a fan of staying much in their cafe but when I do, I love that it's not too crowded. So when it does, a take away is my great option.
Beans & Bites – when you want something classic and fuss-free. I don't usually visit the place but I order a lot of their coffee and sometimes matcha though im not a big match fan, but their matcha is really good.
These are the places I rotate into when I want something familiar but slightly different.
I’m no coffee expert—I won’t talk about acidity levels or bean origins—but I know how a place feels. And these cafés? They’ve held space for different versions of me over the years.
That’s why I keep coming back. I haven't included the co-working spaces here just yet, so chill. hehe
For a quiet time choose to be there in a weekday around 8am to 10am or 1pm to 3pm. After this hour, the cafe's and coffee shops usually starts to gather a crowd.
If you haven’t tried them yet, consider this your sign. And if you have, you already know… some places just stay with you.
We’ll be sharing a fresh list of new coffee shops in Iligan City soon (with locations—promise 😉), so you can explore and support even more local gems.
📣 Share this with your coffee-loving friends and family. Let’s keep the love for Iligan’s café culture alive—one cup at a time.
